Arthur Brusenbauch (Pressburg 1881 – 1957 Abtsdorf am Attersee)

was an Austrian painter and graphic artist of the Late Impressionist period. After training with the theatre painter Johann Kautsky, he studied at the Wiener Kunstgewerbeschule and at the Academy of Fine Arts. He became known for his landscape paintings, frescoes and stained-glass windows for churches and public buildings. From 1920, he was a member of the Vienna Secession, and later of the Künstlerhaus Wien. His works combine an Impressionist style with decorative elements and frequently depict Austrian landscapes, portraits and religious motifs. Works by Brusenbauch are now held in the collections of the Belvedere and the Artemons Kunstmuseum, amongst others.
