Architect and interior designer
Together with Josef Hoffmann, Loos belonged to the most avant-garde group of architects in Vienna, who renounced all ornamentation. He studied at the Technical University in Dresden. From 1893 to 1896, he lived in the USA (Chicago, Philadelphia, New York). From 1896 on, he lived in Vienna and also travelled to Paris. He published important books about architecture such as "Ornament und Verbrechen", 1907. Many important buildings and interior designs in Vienna and abroad, e. g. Café Museum, American Bar, office building on Michaelerplatz, Villa Steiner and others.
