1908: studied under Rudolf Bacher at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. 1910: attended Heinrich Knirr’s private school in Munich and then studied under Hans Müller in Dachau and Karlsruhe. 1913: visits to Paris, England, Scotland, Spain, Scandinavia und Russia. 1914: conscripted to the front, 1915: war artist. After the end of the war, in 1921, he joined the Vienna Secession. 1938 to 1948: lived in England, thereafter in Vienna. 1948: member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus. Bouvard took part in exhibitions at the Vienna Secession from 1919 on, and those of the Künstlerhaus from 1948 on.
