Studied art under Franz von Matsch and architecture with Josef Hoffmann, later became professor at the Wiener Kunstgewerbeschule (Vienna School of Arts and Crafts). Designed villas, residential buildings, shops and other buildings as well as furniture, silverware (Wiener Werkstätte, J. & C. Klinkosch, E. Friedmann), jewellery, porcelain (Wiener Porzellan-Manufaktur, Augarten) ceramics (Wienerberger Werkstätten), stoves, glass (J. & L. Lobmeyr, Haida) table cloths/napkins, (Herburger & Rhomberg, Vienna), carpets, fabrics, book covers, leather goods and lamps.
